Rutgers Baseball (26-28, 13-17) wrapped up the regular season with two straight series wins to help punch their ticket to Omaha, clinching the 10 seed in the Big Ten Tournament.
The Scarlet Knights picked up signature wins down the stretch to rally their way into comfortably sitting within the top 12 to qualify for the postseason for the second consecutive year. With the exception of getting swept by USC, they won 4 of their last 5 series against Penn State, Ohio State, Maryland and Northwestern.
In addition, all of this in the last month was done without their star CF Peyton Bonds. Bonds, who suffered a hamstring injury in the series against UCLA, made his return to lineup as DH on Friday and Saturday in the finale of the regular season after sitting out the last 19 games.
The Scarlet Knights now turn their attention to face No. 7 Michigan on Tuesday. Rutgers lost its series to Michigan back at the end of March.
Our coverage will begin at 5:45PM on Tuesday for the matchup between Rutgers and Michigan. Anthony Palumbo and Chase Jacoby will have the call for however long the Scarlet Knights go dancing in Omaha. Listen to the game live on 88.7FM and streaming online at wrsu.org.
