Rutgers Football Announces Kickoff Times for first 5 Games of 2026

Rutgers Football has announced the kickoff times for its first 5 games of the 2026 season. The Scarlet Knights will have weekday games for 3 of its first 4 games to open up the month of September.

The 2026 season will kickoff on a Thursday at home for the 3rd consecutive year, on September 3rd as Rutgers hosts UMass beginning at 6:00PM. WRSU will have a 2 hour pre-game show with special Rutgers Countdown coverage beginning at 4PM live from the Rutgers Boardwalk.

The first road trip of the season will be at Boston College on Friday, September 11th with kickoff at 7:30PM. It’ll be a special game at Alumni Stadium with the annual Red Bandanna Game this year honoring the 25th anniversary of the attacks on September 11th, 2001.

Rutgers will open up Big Ten Play on Saturday, September 19th as they host USC at SHI Stadium for a 3:30PM Kick. It will only be the second all time meeting between the two programs, with this being the first in Piscataway.

The matchup against Howard was flexed to Friday night on September 25th, with a 7:00PM start. It will feature Eric LeGrand’s A Walk to Believe at the Rutgers Boardwalk.

Homecoming will be on Saturday, October 3rd and it’ll be a big one. The defending national champions, the Indiana Hoosiers make their way to SHI Stadium for an 8:00PM start.

As well, the game at Maryland on October 17th was announced it’ll start “no later than 5PM.”
