Alina Chen wins Rutgers University Student Assembly presidential election

Alina Chen has won the election to lead the Rutgers University Student Assembly as president of the body for the 2026-2027 school year, according to preliminary election results.
Chen is the current University Affairs Chair of RUSA and has furthered many on campus projects, including improving the bus systems, supporting the Basic Needs Center, and adding the noodle and sushi bar to the Busch dining hall.
Chen ran on continuing her projects to improve student life, promoting student advocacy in politics, and ensuring all kinds of student voices are heard.
Isabella Esposito, the current Student Body Secretary and running mate to Chen, will serve as Vice President.
Current SAS Senate Leader Tony Pichardo has been elected Treasurer after running uncontested.
Chen, Pichardo, and other student leaders elected will serve for the 2026-2027 academic year.
