Eagleton and Rutgers Center for Youth Political Participation Host NJ Gubernatorial Debate Watch Party for “Popcorn and Politics” Series

The Eagleton Institute for Politics worked with the Rutgers Center for Youth Political Participation and other campus political science organizations to continue their “Popcorn and Politics” series with a watch party for October 8th’s NJ Gubernatorial Debate between Republican Jack Ciattarelli and Democrat Mikie Sherrill.
The event was held at Trayes Hall in Douglass Student Center, with co-sponsoring organizations including Rutgers Democracy Lab, Rutgers College Republicans, Rutgers University Democrats, Rutgers University–New Brunswick Department of Political Science, Rutgers University Student Assembly, and the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy.
The debate ran for an hour, from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Eagleton’s event followed with a lengthy debrief by Director of Education and Strategic Initiatives Ginger Gold Schnitzer. Students from various backgrounds gave their opinions on the process of the debate, as well as the state of politics in New Jersey.
