On October 24, Montell Fish concluded his “Charlotte” North American tour at Brooklyn Steel in New York. The entire show was an experience that I’m grateful to have been present for. Throughout his performance, Montell did an exceptional job presenting his latest project, “Charlotte,” as well as other hit from tracks from his discography.
The show began with a performance by the opener CLIP, an up-and-coming artist from New York. She did a phenomenal job hyping up the crowd prior to Montell’s performance. CLIP knew how to get the crowd moving. She performed some of her popular songs – like “Sad B!tch,” to my surprise, I knew. To wrap up her performance, CLIP performed a cover of Travis Scott’s “FE!N,” which riled up the crowd in preparation for Montell.

Montell started his performance with one of my personal favorites, “DISTRACTION.” Both the crowd and the artist radiated passion and energy; I loved seeing the fans on the barricade pour their hearts out while the R&B and alternative artist sang his hit songs.

One of my absolute favorite parts of the set was “Every Night.” Although I stood at the back of the venue for the remainder of the set, I could feel the energy booming throughout the night. There are no words to describe how amazing it was to feel the bass booming and the shivers running down my spine as they shredded on their guitars. The Brooklyn-based artist wrapped up his set with “Hotel” and performed some hits, “What’s It Take To Be a Star” and “Fall in Love With You” in the encore.
Montell Fish is a one-of-a-kind artist. From the stage set to the performance, I could tell that his music and his performance was carefully crafted and detailed. His artistic vision really showed through during this tour. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed his performance and will definitely be tuning into his music more often!
