Rutgers dean placed on leave following upskirt video allegations

A Rutgers Dean has been placed on administrative leave following allegations of recording upskirt videos while working at the University. 

Joshua Kohut, Dean of Research at the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, is alleged to have used his mobile phone to record upskirt videos without the victims’ knowledge. 

On August 25th, the Attorney General’s Office announced that Kohut is charged with Invasion of Privacy. 

“An invasion of privacy like this is not just disturbing, it is also a criminal act,” said Attorney General Jennifer Davenport. “We will prosecute accordingly.”

The fourth-degree charge carries a sentence of up to 18 months in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. 

In a statement to CBS News, Rutgers officials call the charges “extremely disturbing.” 

Kohut has been placed on administrative leave and is banned from campus pending the outcome of the investigation.
