On Sunday, the Rutgers Esports club joined with many other related clubs to host their annual Halloween event called “Scarlet Knightmare,” taking place at Busch Student Center.
The event started at noon and stretched until 11 p.m., and drew in students from all over. Esports club Co-President Patrick Masuda spoke about the Esports club setting up in the “Esports center where [they were] having a stream set-up,” and holding a “blind, deaf and mute contest for LEGOs.”
Masuda also mentioned collaboration with the Rhythm Games club, IseCos Cosplay club, and the artist alleys. At the artist alleys, he says, “people can support artists by buying art, clothing or jewelry.”
IseCos’s “IdolFest” was a performance where students in cosplay performed a choreographed dance on stage. Attendees Madison Emanuel and Adrianna Martin both performed in “IdolFest.” Emanuel stated that it was her first time being on stage in a while and that she “really enjoyed performing in IdolFest.”
Martin also participated in the showcase, as well as in a “Random Dance Play” afterward. She said she also spent some time “walking around Artist Alley as well.”
Alongside these activities, “Scarlet Knightmare” hosted video game events like “Minecraft Prop Hunt” and a blindfolded “Valorant Tournament” to add to the Halloween festivities.
Attendees believed that “Scarlet Knightmare” was a great way to start off the Halloween mood, with Emmanuel adding that she’s “even more ready for actual Halloween next week.”
