Rutgers Women’s Lacrosse Has Sendoff to NCAA Tournament

No. 20 Rutgers Women’s Lacrosse (10-8) had received their farewell sendoff at the Gary and Barbara Rodkin Academic Success Center on Wednesday Afternoon as they depart for College Park, Maryland for the First Round of the NCAA Tournament.

This marks the Scarlet Knights first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2022, when they defeated Saint Joseph’s, and eventually lost to Stony Brook in Round 2.

Rutgers draws No. 17 Princeton (11-6) in their first round matchup. The two teams met back on February 25th in Princeton, with the Tigers coming away victorious 15-9 in that one. Rutgers had trailed 8-1 in the 2nd quarter.

Following signature wins over No. 6 Michigan and No. 25 Ohio State, Rutgers looks to capitalize on this opportunity with its names called on the national stage.

Coverage for the matchup on Friday will begin at 1:45PM, with Sean Newcomb and Anthony Palumbo on the call. If the Scarlet Knights win, they will face Maryland in the second round on Sunday. Catch all the action Friday on 88.7FM New Brunswick and online at wrsu.org.
