To conclude her “Escaper” tour, Sarah Kinsley performed a sold out show at Webster Hall on October 16. After seeing her on tour last year, I became a frequent listener of her music, and I was over the moon when I received the opportunity to cover this show.

Ha Vay opened the show leaving the crowd enamored with her elegance. She performed new songs off of her latest album, “Baby I’m The Wolf,” as well as some unreleased tracks! Ha Vay and her band did an incredible job warming up the crowd before the main act.

Shortly after, Sarah Kinsley came on stage. She opened up her set with “Lovegod” and had the crowd in trance. The moment Kinsley and her band began performing, you could feel the energy radiating from the crowd. Promoting her latest album, “Escaper,” Kinsley performed tracks that showcased her talent. She performed some of my favorite tracks off of this project, such as “Starling” and “Sublime.” Kinsley also performed many of her popular tracks, such as “Karma” and “The Giver,” as well as a cover of The Cranberries’ “Dreams.”

I will admit that seeing her perform brought some tears to my eyes. Yes, I was captivated by her artistry and talent – but I was truly drawn to her passion. From her stellar performance, I could tell how much love and devotion she pours into her art. She created an emotional connection with her audience that resonated with me as a listener and a fan. “Escaper” is a project that has and will always have a special place in my heart, and I am so grateful to have been given the opportunity to see these tracks live.
