As part of their “Live For You” Tour celebrating the release of their sophomore album, Thee Sacred Souls played The Brooklyn Paramount, mesmerizing the audience with their performance.

The show kicked off with opener Thee Heart Tones, who wowed the crowd with their love ballads and amazing musicianship. I had not heard of the opener beforehand, but I was quickly captivated by their stage presence and the emotion they were able to evoke from the crowd. They played originals and covers of classic love ballads, including a track by legendary Mexican singer Luis Miguel. Their performance had the entire venue grooving, which set the tone for the night.

When Thee Sacred Souls came out, the energy was infectious. They began jamming, and then transitioned smoothly into their hit single “Lucid Girl.” Their frontman Josh Lane walked around the stage, talking to each side of the audience, and he even ran into the crowd during their popular song “Running Away.” Their set played for almost 2 hours, switching in and out multiple instruments to diversify their songs. An orchestra of musicians supported the band on stage – including a string ensemble, brass section, and even a secondary percussionist on the bongos. The show left me awestruck, and I could tell how passionate the band was for their artistry.

The band and their ensemble initially left after the “final” song in the set, but they eventually came back out for an encore. Bassist Sal Samano, drummer Alex Garcia, and guitarist Shay Stulz all switched instruments for their final songs of the performance, which was particularly unique. Overall, the show was such a fun experience visually and musically, closing with all the musicians on stage locking arms and taking a bow, reminiscent of a Broadway production.

Thee Sacred Souls are still on tour in North America before heading to Europe in February. Check out their new album “Got a Story To Tell” below!
